ABSTRACT FLORAL BACKGROUNDS IN ALCOHOL INK

Explore alcohol ink and its application in painting to create a one of a kind abstract painting. Students will drip, drop, and spread bold and vivid colored ink on the paper's surface in an organic and fluid painting style. In this class, students will experiment with ink application, blending, and color mixing with alcohol to create lush backgrounds and will leave with a basic understanding of how to pursue the medium further. A colorful background will be used to influence student compositions illustrative floral patterns through line drawing and mark making. Students will be working on small practice exercises and then on a final finished piece.
