ALCOHOL INK COASTERS

Explore alcohol ink and its application in painting to create one-of-a-kind ceramic tiles—perfect for gifts or to add a pop of color to your home decor! This class will utilize inks to mimic watercolor's effect in bold and vivid colors and create lush color backgrounds. Students will have a chance to experiment with ink application and will leave with a basic understanding of how to pursue the medium further.
Students will also learn how to finish and seal their coasters with resin. Each student will make four ceramic tiles with cork backings.
Please note: Students will leave with a small finishing kit for sealing their coasters with resin outside class. The kit will include resin epoxy, and the tools need to mix, pour, and protect your tiles, as well as cork backing. An epoxy demonstration will be held at the end of the workshop. Students are encouraged to bring a smock or old clothes.
