Expressive Florals in ink

In this expressive floral class, play with Acrylic and India Ink as a form of Watercolor. We will focus on organic petal shapes and create "loose" blooms, buds, and greenery. 

Our class will focus on mastering water and using these highly pigmented inks to create an intuitive wet-on-wet watercolor. We will work in layers, starting with a blurred background to show the effects of working with the pigmented ink wet on wet versus wet on dry.

We will work with gestural strokes and repetitive tricks to master loose petal shapes and truly play with detail in a wet-on-wet painting.

Students will work with warm-up exercises, discuss what makes a compelling painting, and work toward a completed 11x14 piece!

Students will be in control of the color palette of their composition.

Students will receive a workbook to follow along with the instructor during the class!
