Value in Watercolor: Landscape Sketching at MUSEjar

Value in Watercolor: Landscape SKETCHING IN WATERCOLOR

March 28th • 6:00pm -8:00pm

Join me as we explore one of Watercolor's fundamental practices, value sketching!

This class will focus on value sketching landscapes with basic graphite sketching and monochromatic watercolor painting applications.

This practice is excellent for students looking to build on their foundational understanding of Watercolor in planning, composing, and identifying the importance of strong values and shadows to create contrast and a preliminary sketch of landscapes.

Our focus will be on capturing the essence of our subject with a quick gestural sketch, building the base of our shapes with our brush, and delicate finishing details to bring our topic to life.

Students will work with warm-up exercises for everyday watercolor practice and work toward a completed piece!

Students must bring a reference image, such as a travel photo or inspirational landscape, of something they would like to sketch.
