Lessons in Form & Shadow in watercolor
April 10th • 6:00pm - 8:00pm
In this class, students will learn the power of creating 3-D forms in a painted object through the importance of depth and shadow in Watercolor. During our practice, we will study round objects, like the sphere, and use our skills to paint round objects from life, like lemons, limes, and oranges.
We will focus on sketching, defining our highlight, core tones, reflective light, and reflective shadows, and the tips and tricks to build up layers and depth in our work.
To emphasize these basics, our class will exclusively discuss contrast, highlight, and shadow, working wet on wet vs wet on dry.
Though this is a great class for beginners, it is excellent for intermediate students who have a basic understanding of Watercolor and have taken the Next Steps in Watercolor Series.
