Wild Flowers in Gouache & Watercolor: Painting on Black Watercolor Paper

Wild Flowers in Gouache & Watercolor: Painting on Black Watercolor Paper

September 26th • 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Explore the many mediums and surfaces of Watercolor painting in this exciting Watercolor workshop!

Our class will focus on mastering color intensity and using white, in Gouache, and Watercolor paint on black textured Watercolor paper. We will draw our floral focuses from wildflowers such as wild daisies, buttercups, September Birth Month flower, the Purple Aster, and more!

We will discuss the differences related explicitly to opaque Gouache during class verse traditional Watercolor tube paint. We will use our brush to create loose petals and use our black paper as an element in our overall composition. Students will work on (2) 6" x 9" studies.

Students will work with warm-up exercises specific to our flowers and discuss proper techniques for mixing Gouache, using water, and building our composition.
Students will receive a workbook to follow with the instructor during the class!

This class is a great building block for students who have taken beginning watercolor classes and are interested in exploring the transition from Watercolor to Gouache painting.
