Pansies in Watercolor: Floral Study

We are painting the Pansy flower in this fun spring floral- step-by-step, beginner-friendly workshop.
We will explore the bold colors and patterns of the petals and specific details needed to express the Pansy flower as it blooms! We will discuss simple sketching practices to solidify our flower form, layering in colors while our pigment is wet, and final layers to create bold details!
During class, we will discuss illustrative watercolor painting practices to capture the essence of this flower. Students will complete an 8x10 floral study to take home!
Students will receive a workbook to follow with the instructor during the class!
This class is a great building block for those students who have taken beginning floral watercolor classes.
Level:
Though this is a beginner-friendly class, it is excellent for intermediate students who have a basic understanding of brush control and the power of wet-on-dry painting and would like to work toward a more detailed flower!
We will focus on the Pansy petal shape and its expressive petal colors.
Age:
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.

This class will take place at Hyatt’s
I will be in Hyatt’s classroom for a teacher meet-and-greet, where I will help students with supply questions and shop at the massive Hyatt’s store.

CLass POLICY:
Classes require a minimum attendance to run and are occasionally canceled due to low registration. In the event of a class cancellation, registrants will be notified before the class date, and a full refund will be issued.
If you need to cancel a class, you must cancel at least two days (48 Hours) before the class date to receive a refund or transfer credit. No refunds or transfers will be made on the day of the class or after the class has started or no show attendance for any reason. However, if you’d like to offer your seat in that class to a friend or family member, we’d be happy to let them take your seat. We ask that you please notify me ahead of time or email laura@lacottfineart.com as soon as possible.
