Building a Composition: Bouquets in Watercolor Intermediate Series
Building a Composition: Bouquets in Watercolor Intermediate Series
June 13th & June 20th, 2024 • 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM
Learn the tricks to planning, prepping, and designing a floral composition from life. This intermediate watercolor series will focus on floral arrangements as inspiration to generate an organic painting from a custom bouquet.
In week one, we will focus on the design process, defining our color palette and the tools to build up layers and depth in our work.
In week two, we will continue building depth with layers, focusing on contrast and introducing other water-based mediums like ink and gouache. We will discuss timing, sketching verse final works, and the power of working in a series.
During class, we will discuss layering, working from a wet-on-wet background to a detailed foreground, and textures and marks you can make with simple supplies!
Students will work from a pre-made arrangement.
This class is an excellent continuation for those students who have taken beginning floral watercolor classes and are looking for a more focused approach to planning/composition.
