Poppies in Watercolor: A Monochromatic Floral Study
Poppies in Watercolor: A Monochromatic Floral Study
February 25th, 2023 • 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM
There is much to learn about Watercolor floral painting and the iconic Poppy flower.
Our class will focus on mastering the shape and texture of Poppies, both blooming and as buds, in a monochromatic study. We will work with minimal tools and one color palette, focusing on composition and working wet on wet in India Inks.
During class, we will discuss layering and blooming in Watercolor related explicitly to India inks, working from wet-on-wet background to a detailed foreground, and textures and marks you can make with simple supplies! Students will work with warm-up exercises and work toward a completed piece!
Students will receive a workbook to follow with the instructor during the class!
This class is a great building block for those students who have taken beginning watercolor classes and are interested in exploring India Ink with Watercolor painting.
