Citrus in Watercolor
Citrus in Watercolor
July 27th, 2024 • 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM
Capture the essence of my favorite citrus fruits, Lemons & Limes, in this beginner-friendly Watercolor class!
Nothing says summer like citrus! Inspired by my favorite fruits, this class focuses on a compositional study of whole and sliced lemons or limes. We will discuss and break down basic sketching for compositional planning, the importance of light to create a circular object, and the foundational techniques for designing and customizing our own illustrated fruit.
We will focus on mixing colors and pushing tonal value with water. We will also discuss wet-on-wet vs. wet-on-dry painting, building up depth with layers, and more! Students will do multiple small exercises and work toward a complete 8x10 citrus study.
Students will receive a workbook to follow with the instructor during the class!
This class is a great building block for students who have taken beginning watercolor classes that focus on blending and layering.
